Greetings!
It took a lot of wrangling to get the May site -- I apologize for the delays in posting this!
May Event
Pokagon State Park, Angola, IN
May 2 and 3 (Yes, folks, an overnight event!)
Cost for the entire weekend is 20.00 per person, which includes site
(5.00) and all meals (15.00). Please be aware that there is an
additional park entrance fee of 4.00 per vehicle for Indiana residents
and 7.00 per vehicle for non-Indiana residents.
Site opens: 12 noon Saturday May 2
Lunch will be served immediately upon setup.
Opening court: 2 PM
Shinai combat: 3 PM
Rapier combat: 4 PM
After combat, take some time to rest, relax, and set up for feast!
Feast: 6 PM
After feast, enjoy spending time with friends around a campfire! Please
be advised, we are not allowed to bring in our own firewood unless it
has a federal approval stamp showing it is not contaminated with
emerald ash borer.
Sunday schedule --
Breakfast: 9 AM
Arts judging: 10 AM
Steel combat: 12 noon
Closing court: 2 PM
Site cleanup: 3 PM
I apologize, archery will not be available at this event due to
restrictions on archery within the park. I was not able to get approval
from park rangers to allow us archery in the group camp.
Site closes: 4 PM Sunday May 3
In order to make site cleanup as efficient and painless as possible,
PLEASE clean up after yourself. Throwing out trash as you go means less
trash that has to be picked up on a deadline at site close.
Smokers, the 20 foot rule (no smoking within 20 feet of doors) will be
enforced at the site. In addition, please field strip your cigarette
butts and throw the stripped butts in the regular trash. They do not
burn away completely and make the firepit a mess.

We have run of the entire group camp! This includes all bunkhouses and
all cabins. Please do NOT bring a tent, as tents are not allowed in
this camp. Please use the cabin/bunkhouse facilities for sleeping.
Please bring your own sheets, pillows, and blankets as these are not
provided. Quiet hours are 11 PM to 6 AM.
Site is discreetly damp. Dogs and other pets are not allowed in the
group camp. Service animals are permitted. Showers are available on
site, if I am remembering things correctly.
In Service,
Sorche
